Merry Christmas From the Hamberlins...

Our First Christmas Tree...It's a Charlie Browner For Sure!
Hamberlin Family
2008
2008 has been a great year for our family!! Andy and I got engaged on April Fools Day at Cascade Golf Course and were married 5 LONG months later on August 9th 2008 in the Timpanogos Temple. We were able to enjoy a 2 week, 3 part honeymoon in
Park City, Las Vegas, and Washington DC during the middle of August. We were lucky enough to find a cute little house in Palmyra to rent and we are loving living out in the country. We did
experience a fun summer living with very little water since our well was having some issues…luckily our water is back!
ANDY suffered through a summer of statistics this year but all of his hard work paid off and he graduated from Utah Valley University in August with his Bachelors Degree in Criminal Justice. He currently works at Natures Sunshine in the order sales department and recently
got called to teach Elders Quorum in Church.
JALIZABETH is still working as a Speech Language Pathologist at East Meadows Elementary in Spanish Fork. She has also been working for the State of Utah, teaching children
ages 1 and 2who have speech delays. She is also grateful to be teaching primary in the Palmyra
ward and teaches 3 cute little Valiant 10 girls.
We have enjoyed a fun and exciting year but are looking forward to 2009!
We are excited to announce that we are expecting our first child around July 17 and are so excited to be adding to our family and more importantly to be providing my mom with another grandchild!!
We love you all and are grateful for the support we have received throughout the year.
Love, Andy & Jalizabeth Hamberlin

The Tale of 2 Santas...

For years (like Andy's whole life plus 10 or so years) this Santa has been an icon in the Hamberlin house. Honestly I am not super fond of it and was not thrilled when Andy moved it into our house. First of all it has orange eye shadow, second of all the beard, hair, and eyebrows are made of fiberglass so if you touch it you will break out in a nasty rash. Needless to say I was not looking forward to having Santa hanging out at our house!
Sadly...Andy's brother Mitchell really wanted Santa to spend Christmas (and hopefully every Christmas from here on out) at his house so reluctantly Andy gave him up. I was so happy that Andy gave up Scary Santa that I let him buy another Santa and here is what he found. A much better choice!!

Goodbye Brother...

We took my cute brother to the MTC on Wednesday. Only he would lean over to my mom seconds before he is supposed to walk out the door to start his life as a missionary, right during the middle of the closing prayer, to tell my mom "Man that girl is hot!!" about the sister missionary saying the closing prayer. It's going to be a long 2 years for all of us, we sure will miss you!!

Farewell Weekend...

This weekend we went to Richfield to be with the family for Jeffrey's (Jalizabeth's Brother) mission farewell. He is going to Kenewick, Washington on November 12th. On Saturday we were able to go with him to the Manti Temple to receive his endowment.

Yes that is my brother, the one not looking at the camera...

My sister flew in from Texas for the weekend and her little boy Misi followed Andy around the whole weekend. Good thing Andy was there to entertain him because he wouldn't go to anyone else. (Sorry this is a bad picture but it is the only one we had!)

Sunday we had a bunch of family come in for the farewell. Here is part of my family missing both of my sisters husbands and a few of the nieces and nephews.

This is a more normal picture of us...

The best part of the weekend was that Andy and I were able to escape the masses sleeping at my parents house and use our 1 night free hotel stay that we got for a wedding present. The lady at the front desk must have liked us because she upgraded us to the suite. Andy loved it because it had a handicaped bathroon with a pull down seat in the shower and 2 flat screen TV's!

Alot of people have been asking us about our house... right after we got engaged one of our friend built a new house and offered to rent us their old house in Palmrya. It was such a great deal we couldn't pass it up. It is a little far out of the way and is right in the path of the dairy farm smell but so far we really like life on the farm!
The front of the house

We have a huge beautiful yard that we haven't had to mow or rake once

Fall Break Fun

Andy and I decided to do a little ATVing on Friday. We went to Hobble Creek and rode across the mountain until we were above Provo. It was a beautiful day and great weather! We rode up one hill just as this crazy guy was getting ready to paraglide off of the mountain.

The view of Utah Valley

Our one and only ATVing adventure of the year (so far)!!

whats crunkalunken

Seriously I've never been so freaken bored, that i have to write a blog at 2:10 in the morning to keep myself awake. I have to stay awake because i am working a grave at slate caynon youth detention. Jaliz hates it but who wouldn't hate working on the weekend doing grave work ikie ikie. yep the time goes by really quick when you are active and alert and so I am staying active and writting this post.
Well the exciting thing we did on this friday was help my dad move from assisted living for old people too a trailer that he bought. I think he is going to live down by utah lake I dont talk that much with him sono need for more info on that. I am just a freak when it comes to moving I love to help people move. I love moving people because it is rewarding to your soul, and you get to really see all the junk people have accumulated through the years and wonder why they hang on to it. At one point in my life i could fit all my belonging in a small mazda b2000 truck it was the easiest move possible one load.
Ok well enough said i need to go do another 15 min check and come back to end this post.
thanks for reading this tired, uninteresting post from me andy

not doing nothing to special

sorry we have not blogged for a couple weeks its just we haven't done anything to exciting to tell friends or family. plus we don't have internet at home so it takes us awhile to find time to put things on the blog. Oh yeah this is andy so this blogs not going to flow as well and if jalizabeth wrote it. We are both working alot and when we get breaks we take advantage of it by doing nothing at all.

A Fun Date Night

We went on a fun date the other night. Sundance opens their ski lifts during the off season for scenic rides. Monday night was a full moon so we thought it would be fun to ride up the ski lift in the moonlight. So we packed up our blanket, doughnuts, and hot chocolate and went for a moonlight ride. We had a great time!

Our Honeymoon

We we lucky enough to be able to go on 3 different trips for our honeymoon for a total of 2 weeks! We started out at the Silverking Lodge in Park City. After that we flew to Las Vegas for a few days. Unfortunately our trip to Vegas started out with our flight being delayed so we spent 4 hours wandering around the airport. The delay turned out to be lucky for us because we didn't get to Vegas until midnight and we think the hotel people felt bad for us so they upgraded us to a penthouse suite. While we were in Vegas we walked the strip, rode the New York New York Rollercoaster, and went to the Bodies exhibit.

After we got home from Las Vegas we had to pack up again and leave for the Natures Sunshine Convention in Washington DC. When we got there we were disappointed to find out that we were actually staying in Baltimore Maryland, about 30 minutes outside of the city. The first night we went on the Monuments by Moonlight tour of DC. It was really cool to drive through DC at night and see everything all lit up. It was definately alot different then the lights of Vegas. While Andy was working, I spent the time reading, watching movies, and laying in bed! We did get to ride the ferry over to old town Alexandria, Virgina one day and do some shopping in some fun little antique stores.

We had a great honeymoon but sure were glad to get back to real life, but you know how it always goes we've been back for a month and already need another vacation!
