Heard at the Hamberlin's-February
Well February typically isn't my favorite month...it is usually cold and dull and boring but we actually got some warm weather and were able to go on a few walks! It is so fun to see things from the prospective of these little men! While I was annoyed that this 2 block walk took aver 30 minutes...the boys were so excited about the littlest things! We stopped a million times to "get our breath back" or to pick up every single "pinecorn" and they loved it! Here are a few of the other funny things that the boys had to say this month!
PAXTON
-Pax was mad at his dad because he wouldn't show him something and he said to Andy, "Show me that picture or I'm going to spank your bum so it turns purple!"
-The next night Paxton prayed, "Please bless that Jesus will come to our house and take all of the monsters to jail."
-The boys found some of Andy's old headlamps and were wearing them around the house one day. Paxton was looking in my mouth and after a careful examination he exclaimed, "Oh no Mom something's missing." I said, "Something's missing? What is it?" Pax replied, " Mom, something's missing...you have no energy!" Yep you've got that right buddy!
-Pax and I were laying in bed the other night reading books and Pax leaned over a rubbed my belly and said, "How's my sister doing in there?" Umm...I'm pretty positive that's not happening anytime soon!
-Pax was playing soccer in the backyard with his cousins and he kept telling them, "that's not how they do it on my IPad!"
-Okay last one...another prayer comment! After a very long day with all 3 boys Paxton prayed, "Thank you for Mom who like it when Tegan and I go to quiet time for a very long time when dad is at work"
TEGAN
-One morning Andy told Tegan to go find Paxton, Tegan's response, "No way he's too weird!"
-Lately I have spent a lot of time feeding Kyson and I will admit I have used it as an excuse a few times to get out of doing something that the boys want me to do. The other night Tegan got out of bed and I put him back in bed to which he replied with his usual "lay by me." I started to say, "I can't I've got to go feed..." and he interrupted me and with the sassiest tone he could muster said, "Mom, I no you not feed Kyson right now." Oops looks like my excuse is getting old!
-Tegan has been waking up 5-6 times a night for random reasons and he usually has an excuse as to why he is awake in the middle of the night. Some of those excuses have included: "Mom, Momma, Mommy (repeated about 10 times until I go in the room" and "I have a problem." or "I have an idea." I have also heard "I need help I broke my_______" or my personal favorite from 3:30 in the morning the other day, "Pax hit me!" I though Pax was asleep but apparently he wasn't and he replied with, "Uh no I didn't." His other favorite excuses are, "I need my blankies" (which he conveinently drops on the floor as I walk in the room!" or "I can't find Moo-Moo" (his stuffed cow...which I eventually found stuffed under his pillow!)

Kyson**1 Month
Kyson is 1 month old today!! I hate that it has already been a month but love that he doesn't seen so fragile and is starting to be more responsive!
At 1 month Kyson weighs in at 9 pounds 10 ounces...what a chunk!! He has gained almost 4 pounds since we brought him home from the hospital! He lives by his feeding schedule and is up ready to eat every 3 hours during the day and every 4 hours at night! He is still wearing newborn clothes but I think it is time to put them away for a bigger size (I have walked into his room 3 times today to start switching out his clothes and had to leave...it just makes me sad!!) He is still in size 1 diapers but I think he will be growing out of those quickly as well!
He is still struggling with a little bit of reflux...as long as I hold him upright after he eats he is usually good but if I wiggle him around too much watch out...you will get it!
He is starting to be more responsive and is giving us a little smile now and then! He has such a cute smile I can't wait until he does it more often!
He is definitely a momma's boy...and loves to be cuddled in blankets and held by his mom!
We are so in love with this little man and are so grateful he is a part of the little trio of boys we are privileged enough to raise! Can't wait to see what the next month brings...just don't let it go by too fast!

The Dentist
It is time again for the boys to visit the dentist! Since this was Tegan's first time I had to take a ton of pictures to document the big event! Paxton's first dentist appointment was a breeze...I knew Tegan's was not going to be that smooth!
First up x-rays...apparently Tegan has inherited my gag reflex. The second she put that tiny square of film in him mouth he started gagging. After about 4 attempts (one with me holding the film in his mouth while he gagged) we decided to bag it and try again next time!
Pax did great and was more focused on his video game than anything else!
This picture is completely deceiving...see how the relaxed he looks watching his movie, well that lasted about as long as it took for me to take this picture! He did not want to sit was nervous about getting his teeth cleaned but dang it if we were going to pay for this dentist visit he was getting them cleaned! So I held him down and they cleaned, counted, and checked his teeth!
In the end we survived and even came out victorious...NO cavities!! They have definitely inherited Andy's good teeth and that makes for one happy mom!!
Kyson's 2 Week Stats
We had Kyson's 2 week doctors visit today to check his growth and do his PKU test. At his 3 day visit he had lost almost a pound (down to 5 pounds 14 ounces) so I was a little bit worried about him eating enough and gaining weight.
Luckily though this little man loves to eat!! At his 2 week visit he weighed in at 7 pounds 9 ounces (11%) and is 21.5 inches long (81%)...tall and skinny!! The doctor said "Well that's about the max amount we expect babies to gain in their first 2 weeks...its equivalent to about 1 1/2 ounces a day. So yeah keep doing what your doing!" He is such a mellow baby that he hardly cried when the nurse did his PKU test...one little squeak when she initially poked him and then he fell asleep!
Ky still has a little bit of reflux...nothing too serious but he is definitely my most spitty baby and we have a had a few of those fun spit ups where he spits everything he just ate (and when you are nursing that is terrible!) Hopefully he will just grow out of it as he gets bigger!
At 2 weeks Kyson:
-Eats about 7 times a day, is still in his newborn clothes and now wears size 1 diapers.
-Kyson had his tongue clipped a few hours after he was born because he was super tongue tied...couldn't move his tongue hardly at all...luckily he has much more movement now and is nursing better everyday!
-Kyson had his tongue clipped a few hours after he was born because he was super tongue tied...couldn't move his tongue hardly at all...luckily he has much more movement now and is nursing better everyday!
-Initially looked more like Paxton but is now starting to take on his own look...he is built more like Tegan with a long torso and bigger hands and feet.
-Sleeps a 5 hour stretch at night, gets up to eat and then sleeps for another 3-4 hours. When he wakes up at night to eat he is usually up for about an hour but sometimes he wants to hang out and is up for 2!
-Loves to be cuddled and swaddled and loves to have a blanket with him at all times.
-Gets the hiccups after almost every feeding and a few other times during the day
-Is getting better at making eye contact and tracking people.
-Puts up well with his brothers...Pax loves to kiss his head and Tegan loves to "talk at him
and he just lets them!
and he just lets them!
