Happy Father's Day
We got to spend Father's Day in Richfield with my family...it was a great day!!
I was so excited for Andy to get to have his first Father's Day...he is such a great dad to Paxton!
Happy Father's Day to my Dad as well...here he is enjoying his Father's Day present with his grandkids!!
Happy Father's Day to my 2 favorite fathers...I love you guys!!
Happy Birthday?
I turned 29 on June 17th. We started off the morning bright and early (7 am) at the hospital with Paxton while he got tubes.
My sister was in town so we decided to go up to American Fork and do some shopping that afternoon. The shopping was fun but unfortunately on the way home one of my biggest fears happened...we got a flat tire on the freeway in the middle of rush hour! I have always been so scared that that would happen to me when I was driving alone with Paxton so if it had to happen at least my sisters were there. Since Andy was at work and my brother in law Pila was taking a test...we made my sister call one of the boys that she "hangs out" with to come change the tire (it was a good excuse to meet him!!) We must have been quite a sight...3 girls and 2 babies sitting on the side of the freeway during rush hour!
11 Months and Tubes
Paxton turned 11 months old on June 12th! I can't believe that he is going to be one in a few weeks!! He has turned into quite a funny boy these days...He is talking and babbling so much more and is starting to imitate vowel sounds and trying to say things that we say. He has also finally started saying mama (or muma) but mostly when he is mad or sad about something. He has also learned to throw temper tantrums lately...Andy and I just sit and watch him trying not to laugh but sometime we just can't help it because it is so cute! Paxton loves paper, plastic, the mail, cell phones, the remote, and his new walker...usually if he throws a fit it is because he can't have one of these things! Paxton is still being a stinker about crawling and walking and just prefers the army crawl but he is getting better about getting up on his hands and knees and he is standing up on everything! He is still not a big eater and has sworn off baby food but he is getting better about trying new things...currently his favorites are pancakes, Popsicles, watermelon, cantaloupe, and beans!
Paxton got tubes in his ears on June 17th!! I was so excited for him to get them so that we could be free from ear infections for awhile! When they weighed him in he was only 17 pounds 8 ounces and 28 inches long!
He looked so cute in his little hospital pajamas...I really wanted to take them home but was afraid they would charge me a zillion dollars so I only took the little socks!
Playing trucks with Dad before going in...
When the nurse came to get him Pax held his arms out to him and away they went, he didn't even look back. I didn't know whether to be sad that he wasn't sad to leave us or happy that it was that easy!

Guest Room Makeover
This summer I have a goal to decorate a few rooms in our neglected basement. When we moved in we focused all of our energy on getting the upstairs put together and just left the basement alone. Originally we had put the guest bedroom upstairs but decided that it would be nice for guests to have a room downstairs with some privacy.
Here is the guest room before...hot pink on top with a white pattern on the bottom of the walls...
Complete with a built in vanity...
And a Cinderella sticker on the wall...
Did I mention that the people who lived here before us had 4 little girls!

The downside with loving to decorate is that it costs money so we tried to do this bedroom as cheaply as possible. Everything in this room we either already had and refurbished, found at the DI, or made ourselves. Thank goodness for my mom..she came to my rescue and painted the room and hung up the curtains! Without her this would still be a work in progress!
Here is the finished result!! I love it!
This was an old dresser of Andy's (sorry I didn't take a better picture.) We spray painted it with Krylon Bahama Sea and added new glass knobs...

Troublemaker
Most of the time he is so sweet and innocent but our little guy is turning into quite a troublemaker. Here are some of the things that he has been into lately...
He loves the vents...loves them!! He likes to stick his fingers in them and now that we have the AC on he likes to lay right on top of them or blow on them.
When we get out his toys in the morning he is not satisfied unless EVERYTHING is out for him to play with. His favorite toy in that pile...our old TV remote!
We recently bought him a walker, he loves it but unfortunately it is the same height as the garbage can...normally I am pretty quick to shut the laundry room door but Pax was super speedy yesterday and had the garbage knocked down and spread around before I could even get there.
He has also mastered pulling himself up to the toy box that is in our family room. Now he can not only pull himself up to it but he can also climb on top of it which typically results in him falling off.

Memorial Day 2010
Andy was lucky enough to get Memorial Day off this year so we were able to spend sometime with his family. About 8:00 Sunday night we decided we were going to have a practice camp out in the back yard to see how Paxton would do! Unfortunately we picked the windiest night of the year and ended up only making it for 2 hours before we got too cold and went inside. Paxton slept the whole time totally oblivious to what was going on or where he was so maybe we will survive camping (on a warm night) after all!
The next day I reluctantly agreed to hiking with Andy's family. They had wanted to hike to Timpanogos Cave but unfortunately when we got there it was a 3 hour wait. We ended up driving up the canyon to Tibble Fork Reservoir and hiking a few smaller hikes around the lake!
Andy definitely got his exercise that day!
Paxton loved hiking!
It is easy when you get to be carried and eat cookies and drink ice water...I think I would love hiking if I got that kind of treatment!
Don't worry this is before we started...that's why I still have a smile on my face. Two hours later I'm sure I didn't look so pleasant!
We had the family over later that night for a barb-e-que at our house! Andy did a great job cooking and we played some fun games of lasso golf and dodgeball.
