Luckily Tegan's birth story is pretty uneventful but for journaling purposes I thought I better get it written down before I forgot!
I begged Dr. Anderson to schedule me for an induction at 39 weeks, lucky for us that fell on April 13th, Andy's Grandma Cannon's birthday! We didn't have to go to the hospital until noon so we spent the morning anxiously awaiting the arrival of our baby boy!
We arrived at Mountain View Hospital in Payson and realized that we had forgotten to pre-register, so by the time we got all the paperwork done and all set up in our room it was about 1:00. At 1:15 they started the poticin and antibiotics (for Group B strep.) We were a little nervous because I had to have antibiotics for 4 hours before I delivered and I had a quick delivery with Paxton so we were just hoping that I could get all the antibiotic I needed before I delivered Tegan. Dr. Anderson came in at 2:30 and decided to wait and break my water until I had had more antibiotics. I decided to get my epidural around 3:30 and was dialated to a 6 by 4:30. Dr. Anderson finally came in around 5:15 and broke my water!! I dialated to a 9 pretty fast from there but then got stuck at a 9 for a while. Finally at 6:20 I was complete and ready to push. 4 contractions later...Tegan Drew Hamberlin was born at 6:39 pm!!
When he came out we were all quite surprised at how small he was and how bald he was!!
Tegan weighed in at 6 pounds 8 ounces and was 20 inches long. He came out and cried for a little bit but then was calm and quiet and has been ever since!!
We are so
grateful to Dr. Anderson for all he has done for our family to help get Paxton and now
Tegan safely here!
Once
Tegan was cleaned up and handed off to us we were so amazed at how much he looks like his big brother...he is pretty much a spitting image of Paxton just smaller and with less hair!
After
Tegan was taken to the nursery they took his temperature and decided that it was a little low and they wanted to warm him up a bit before bathing him and giving him back to us. He spent about 3 hours in the warmer and then they finally gave him back to up...much to our relief!
We had a pretty uneventful 2 days in the hospital and were sure glad when we finally got to come home.
Tegan is a sweet, quiet,
laid back baby and we love having him as a part of our family!!
Our beautiful son just chillin at the hospital...I know I an a little biased but I think he is such a pretty baby (am I allowed to call a boy pretty?) 
He is a great sleeper, which I am so grateful for, but when he is awake he is wide awake and so alert. He will just lay on the couch and look around at all of us...I'm sure he is thinking "What in the world did I get myself into?" Oh and did I mention he LOVES his binkie. He started off being a really good eater but lately we have been struggling a little bit...I blame the binkie! Hopefully we will be get ourselves back on track soon! 
We are so grateful to finally have Tegan here safe and sound and are excited to see what the future brings for him and our family!
