The Joys of Homeownership

Well the excitement we had over our new house was quickly diminished when we went over to check out the house for the first time after it officially became ours. When we walked into the house all we could see was all of the work that we had ahead of us. The previous owners had not cleaned a thing...in 7 years but had managed to hang up about 120 pictures on the walls...all with anchor screws that had to be ripped out of the walls. They also did a very interesting reverse 2 tone self paint job with the most unappealing shade of tan that you can imagine. Did I mention the carpet...oh the carpet was bad. We were not super happy! Oh wait did I also forget to mention the 5 two inch holes that they drilled through one wall so that they could snake their flat screen tv wires through them to the plug. I still wonder what was uglier, the wires or the huge holes in the wall...

By the time that we got all of the holes filled and the walls washed it was obvious that the whole upstairs needed to be painted, doors, walls, baseboards, trim...everything. Luckily we have great families who have helped up a ton. Andy's family has spent a few nights this week up to the house helping us patch, sand, and texture holes, clean, and prime baseboards and trim. My mom, Jessica, and Jake came up for the weekend to help and managed to get the whole main part of the house painted in one day! Tomorrow we are hoping to get the bedrooms and hallway painted. Here are some before and after pictures of whats been going on at our house.
This is a before picture of the family room. Here is an up close picture of the beautiful reverse 2 tone paint job...throughout the entire house!

After a long day of hard work...It looks 700 times better than before We will continue to post pictures as we get more work done!! Thanks again everybody for your help...we don't know what we would have done without you!!

BIG NEWS!!

We're Moving!!
We are so exicited to announce that we are buying our first home!! We have been in the process of securing this house for about a month and a half and now all of the sudden within a week we have been accepted, inspection and apprasial has been done, and we are closing next week. We should be moving in about 2 weeks....crazy!!
We are so excited to have more space, a beautiful yard, and a beautiful house to bring our baby boy home to. We will post pictures as we get moved and get settled. As excited as we are to get a house, we are super sad to be leaving Palmyra but can't wait for this new adventure in our lives!

22 Weeks!

I am not a huge fan of pictures of myself...especially pictures of my ever expanding belly but this is for you Jamie! I am 22 1/2 weeks today, on the downhill stretch! We have our official ultrasound with our doctor in Payson tomorrow and are very excited to see how much Paxton has grown in the past 5 weeks. Based on how much I am growing and how much he is kicking around in there, I'm sure he is getting big! I'll update more after the ultrasound!
Bytheway-we are naming him Paxton James...just so you are not confused!

Happy Birthday Andy!!

Today, March 10th, is Andy's birthday! He turned 32 today!
We started off the day at the Draper Temple Open house. It was fun to go and see the differences between that temple and others that we have been to. My favorite part was the fabric (imagine that) that they used on the chairs, benches, and various couches! After a tasty lunch at Iggy's, we spent the rest of the day shopping at a zillion stores between Salt Lake and Provo. I'm sure that Andy had different ideas for how he would spend his birthday but when we have time off we have stuff to do! We ended up getting some cute clothes for the baby and I desperately needed some maternity clothes but other than that we didn't find much. Andy did get a new shirt and a bike helmet for his birthday!
After that we had to get home in time to watch Biggest Loser while we ate cake and ice cream...isn't that the way it usually goes!
I'm so grateful to have Andy in my life, we have had a great year and a half together and are looking forward to many many more.
I LOVE YOU BABE...HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!
