Preschool Fun in November!

We are so lucky that Paxton gets to go to preschool and learn new things and have fun with his friends!  November was another great month filled with different activities about Fall and Thanksgiving!
Paxton and Teague (who according to Paxton are "double trouble" and are best friends) got to make turkey puppets.

And Turkey Hats (which became the centerpiece for our Thanksgiving dinner at our son's insistence!!)

He also got to practice the T sound and make dots on a turkey for every T word he practiced!
The Tuesday before Thanksgiving they had a Thanksgiving Feast!  Each child was asked to bring a food that they are thankful for.  We talked about the feast and being thankful for weeks and every time Paxton insisted that he wanted to bring pizza...not just frozen pizza but Little Ceaser's Pizza!  He was so determined that that was what he was going to bring that I couldn't say no!
The class "feast" consisted of: pizza, macaroni and cheese, apples, hot chocolate, pizza bites, popcorn, crackers and cheese, cheese puffs, marshmallows, and juice!!

Playing with foam food and turkey basters in the sensory table!

Birthday Party with the Cousin's

We got to go to our niece's 5th birthday party today!  She had a horse party and her parents rented mini horses to come to their house and give all the kids rides around the yard!
Tegan was not about to get on that horse...all I wanted was one cute picture of both boys on a mini horse...but their was no way that was going to happen!

I thought Paxton was going to be so nervous and not want to ride the horse without Andy or I walking around with him.  Andy showed him how to hold on and walked with him for the first little bit and then Paxton was ready to ride by himself!
I was so proud of him!!  He is getting to be such a big boy!
After a few laps around the yard the boys remembered that Mitchell and Eliza have a trampoline and they were in heaven jumping, running, and spinning for the next half hour!  I can't believe that it is the last day of November and we are outside jumping on the tramp with no coats or hats...I love this kind of weather!

Paxton did take a short break to make some horse ears and a tail to wear for the party!

Thanksgiving

Oh Thanksgiving...where do I even begin?  We got to host Thanksgiving at our house this year for the Hamberlin Family...there were going to be about 30 people coming which is not too many compared to Brown Family or Meyer Family gatherings!  I spent days planning, searching pinterest for recipes and decorations...everything to make it a perfect Thanksgiving.  So let's start with the turkey...
I put Andy in charge of seasoning the big bird before we put it in the roasting pan!  Well when we were done we went to put it in the pan and of course...it wouldn't fit!  Off to Walmart I went to get a roasting pan!  So we got the turkey in the oven, the yams and potatoes cooking, the house cleaned and decorated and we were ready to go!
Around 2:00 the family started coming over...all of the cousins were excited to find each other and to get in their seats and get ready to eat!  Paxton and Tegan got to sit with their cousins Kenyon and Jordan at the "little boys" table!  They had fun coloring their names and decorating the table with their artwork!

Tegan took over Evan's spot at the table and colored his plate and place card for him!

Well 2:30 rolls around and the family is all here...we pull out the turkey (which had defrosted for 4 days) and it is beautiful and golden brown on the outside...and almost raw on the inside.  Are you kidding me...weeks of preparing and planning and the dang turkey didn't cook!!  I almost don't even want to get into the chaos that followed but it included a meat thermometer, a microwave, and a timeout in my room for me!  In the end everything worked out...absolutely not the way I wanted it to but it was fine and everyone had a great time.  Thanksgiving is about family (not a perfect turkey) and we were all there and all together and there was food on the table!  At least I don't have to host Thanksgiving again for at least another 10 years...when that happens, I think we will have ham!!

Christmas Lists

Christmas preparations are in full swing at the Hamberlin's home!!  Unfortunately I am waiting to decorate until after Thanksgiving since we are hosting Andy's family at our house this year!
I found a cute printable on pinterest and decided this would be the perfect way to get rid of all the Christmas toy catalogs that Paxton has been hoarding around our house!
Paxton really just wanted everything so I cut out a bunch of things and then made him narrow it down to his top choices...the pictures cover the back of the paper as well!
 Paxton's Christmas List 2012
Top choices include: Spiderman, Super Heros, a Racetrack, Movies, Trucks, and Jake and the Neverland Pirates
Oh the joys of making a 19 month old pose for pictures!!
Truthfully, Paxton picked out most of the items on Tegan's Christmas list.

We Got a Pirate!

Those who know me will know that I love new cars.   I have had my Altima for 5 years and that was a record...by far.  We had been talking about trading my car in for a while but had decided to wait until we absolutely needed to (ie: had another baby.)  Well that didn't stop me from keeping my eye out!  We were at Forrest Motors last Saturday looking at trucks and this Pilot caught my eye...2005, totally upgraded and I was in love!  We had the guy come and look at my car and he ended up offering us more than it actually blue booked for...and I was sold!  We ended up getting such a good deal that we are only paying $10 more a month than we were on the Nissan!
When we were driving back up to Orem to pick up the car I kept telling Paxton that we were getting a Pilot.  He kept saying "Yay a Pirate, a Pirate!!"  I tried to explain to him the difference between pirate and Pilot but he was set on a pirate!  He was pretty disappointed when we pulled up and I said, "There's our Pilot."  I think he was totally expecting a pirate ship...luckily once he say the DVD player he was okay with the Pilot!
