All Things B

As I was going through the camera yesterday I realized that Paxton is currently obsessed with a lot of things that start with the letter B...coincidence I'm sure because he has no idea what the letter B is! Here are just a few of his current "B" favorites!
Thank you to whoever made this movie and thank you even more to whoever donated a brand new copy of it to the DI (and to Jamie for finding it for me for $1!)...the 20 minutes a day of free time you give me is invaluable to my sanity! This BABY DOLITTLE movie is Paxton's current favorite...he giggles, copies all the words, and best of all holds still for 20 whole minutes! He comes up to me asking for "my show" at least 2 times a day...Another obsession...this BEAR that my Grandma gave to him when he was born. I'm sure this is one of those look but don't touch bears but "Oso" is the first thing he asks for when he wakes up and the last thing he asks for when he goes to bed! Cowboy BOOTS...we found these on clearance at Walmart and couldn't resist! Most of the time you will find Paxton stomping around the house in nothing but a t-shirt, a diaper, and these camo cowboy boots!
Paxton has always been a BOOK lover...lately though he loves them even more because he can imitate all of the words in the books. We have started a new routine where we read the same 3 books every night for a week and usually by the end of the week he is filling in some of the words by himself without us having to help him!
BUBBLES...oh the bubbles...I think we have blown bubbles about 55 times this week alone. He knows right where they are and stands under the cupboard saying "bubbles please" in the cutest little voice over and over and over again until you finally have to give in and just blow the dang bubbles! Oh well easy entertainment...right?
BOXING...Paxton actually calls it "fight"...putting hot pads on his hands and pretend fighting with whoever will play with him. I have no idea where he picked up this little trick because we don't watch boxing or anything like it but it sure is entertaining.
And last but not least...BEING NAUGHTY!! This kid is into everything and everyday it is something new...whether it is making a mess or climbing onto (or into) something he isn't supposed to! Oh...some days he give us a run for our money but he is so entertaining you can't stay mad at him for long!
As I sat typing this I thought of a few other B" things he is into these days...number 1 would have to be the BA-BA. I have no idea how we are ever going to get this kid off the bottle...he loves his ba-ba. Another favorite...BANANAS...Paxton could eat nothing but bananas for every meal and be perfectly happy! Finally...BABIES...he loves babies these days (probably a good thing too since he is getting one at his house in a few weeks!) He points to them on TV and gets really excited when we see a real baby at church or school. Hopefully he will be this enthusiastic about babies when his brother gets here!
He is at such a great age, I just love it!!

Paxton's First Day of Nursery

Today was Paxton's first day of Nursery!! I really can't believe that he is old enough to go!
Of course being the nervous 1st time mother...I followed him in and stuck around for the first 15 minutes...he was so cute and little playing with all of the kids.
After 15 minutes I finally decided to let him be a big boy and stay in there by himself. I snuck out (but paced the halls outside the nursery) for the rest of Sunday school. Don't worry I peaked in the window every 15 minutes or so to make sure he was okay! I only got a little teary eyed once when I saw him sitting at the table with all of the big kids eating his snack...It just made me realized how big he is getting! The second hour didn't go so well...unfortunately that is his nap time and he was tired! We spent the 2nd hour of nursery together...Paxton laying on the floor drinking his bottle and me watching him because he wouldn't let me leave!
What a big boy...we are so excited for him to be able to go to nursery each Sunday!

The Bean Museum

On Saturday we were feeling a little home bound so we took a little trip over to the Bean Museum at BYU. Paxton loves animals so we were sure that Pax was going to LOVE it...he definitely loved it but it wasn't the animals that he loved...in fact he was terrified of the animals (ranked right up there with Santa!!) He did love...
Looking over the balcony!
Playing with the fake plants!
Touching the textured pillars!
Running around and climbing on all of the benches!
The only part of the actual museum exhibit that he liked was the place where you can touch all the different animal fur and skin!
Afterward we enjoyed some yummy hot fudge sundaes at the creamery !
What a fun day!

18 Months Old

I can't believe my little baby is 18 months old already!! He has grown up so much in the past 6 months it makes me CRAZY! Here is a little update on the many adventures in the life of Paxton! SLEEPING: Paxton has gotten into some BAD habits when it comes to sleeping. He has decided to change up the carefully planned nap schedule. Now he likes to nap around lunch time and again right before dinner and that makes for a late bedtime! He also currently will not go to sleep at night unless Andy lays by him on the couch and they watch TV to fall asleep...bad bad habit! He still wakes up anywhere from 2-5 times a night. He has really enlarged tonsils that make him snore really really loud...so he usually wakes himself up from snoring. He typically requires a bottle of milk to get back to sleep (I know we are still not of the bottle...bad bad!!) With the baby coming we decided to go ahead and get him a toddler bed. He has slept on it a few times (with Andy on a mattress on the floor next to him) and has fallen out both time. For now I think we will stick to the crib!!
EATING: Paxton is still a pretty pick eater. He has days where he will try anything and eat a ton and then days where we will eat hardly anything except for milk from his beloved BA-BA. Some of his current favorite foods include: cereal, crackers, pretzels, mac & cheese, pancakes, french toast, french fries, chicken nuggets, cereal bars, fruit snacks, ice cream, milk, juice, and any kind of treat!!
PLAY: Like I said earlier, Paxton has grown up so much in the past few months. He loves to make mischief getting into things he isn't supposed to. His favorite things to do are to empty out the cupboards, pull out all of the dishtowels and hot pads, throw all of his toys into Homer's house, pull out all of the shoes, and dump out any bucket of toys he can find!
He likes to play with "big boy toys" like cars, tools, blocks, and balls but especially loves cell phones, the computer, and the remotes! He loves to watch TV and movies including: Mickey Mouse Clubhouse, Yo Gabba Gabba, Timmy Time, Handy Manny, and Baby Einstein.
TALKING: Paxton is an amazing talker!! He will try to imitate almost anything that we say to him! He knows about 40 words on his own and is starting to put words together! Some of his favorite words and phrases include: Mommy, Daddy, Homer, no way, please, hi, out, what's up, sit, yes, no, shoes, and ha-ha! He knows most of the animal names and sounds, and a few of his body parts! He is starting to sing lots of songs including E-I-E-I-O, ABC, and lots of songs he makes up himself!
He still loves to read books and can often be found in his room reading through his basket of books! Other funny things about Paxton:
He hates wearing socks and shoes in the car and can usually has them ripped off within 30 seconds of getting strapped in.
He has learned how to take his pants off (and as of today his shirt) so he can usually be found running around our house with no pants on!
One of his other favorite things to do is to be chased around the house and be tickled, then chased and tickled, and chased and tickled over and over again!
He is so attached to Andy right now! He wants to be with him at all times. Andy can't even go to the bathroom with out Paxton following to the bathroom and waiting for him outside the door.
Paxton cries when Andy drops him off at the babysitter and then cries when I get there to pick him up because he doesn't want to leave!
We sure love this little man and can't imagine our lives without him!
We look forward to all of the other adventures we get to experience with him!!

The Big Boy Haircut

Paxton turns 18 months old this week!! We (and when I say we I mean Andy) decided that it was time for his first big boy haircut. I was really hesitant because I LOVE Paxton's hair and it is always the first thing people notice about him. I finally consented and off we went to our local Great Clips for the big day!
Here is a shot from a few weeks ago...I didn't get a chance to get a good before shot today. Paxton was amazingly calm and well behaved. He started off on my lap but as soon as Andy was done with his haircut we had to change places so Paxton would cooperate!
I was totally nervous during the whole thing (don't worry I didn't cry) but we made it through thanks to fruit snacks and dad!!
Before we knew it Paxton turned into a big boy! I kept looking at him thinking "What happened to my baby?" but now that we have all had time to get used to it we are loving it!!
