Paxton at 2

I can hardly believe that Paxton is 2 years old already!! It honestly seems like it was just yesterday that we were sitting in the hospital anxiously waiting for him to arrive!!

Paxton is such an awesome kid...I love this age (I think I say that at every age) because he is learning so many new things! He loves to sing songs especially his ABC's, Slippery Fish, Happy Birthday, and Itsy Bity Spider. He is working on his letters and can count to 10!Paxton loves alot of things lately including: his Dad, TV (Yo Gabba Gabba and Good Luck Charlie) being outside, his sippy and blankie, doing puzzles, drawing pictures, reading books, and climbing on anything. He has figured out that he can move the chairs or barstools over to any door, lightswitch, or sink to get access to something that he wants. I put a stop to it though when he pushed the chair over to the fridge to help himself to a little water and got water all over the kitchen!

Some of the things Paxton doesn't like: being stuck in the house, not getting what he wants, getting in his car seat, sitting in time out, and eating breakfast (most days prefers just to drink milk!) He is a pretty easy going kid but also has a little bit of a temper if things don't go his way!!
Paxton is talking up a storm!! Sometimes he comes up with sayings or phrases and I just sit back and think where in the world did you hear that? Some of his latest include: Out of my seat, come here, I pinch you, pretty please, wash hands, and night night with bee ee (blankie) and ba ba (sippy.) He especially likes to talk in the car and usually will sit and jabber on the entire car ride telling me or his dad about his day (at least we think that is what he is doing!)

Paxton has grown alot since he had his tonsils out back in March. At his 2 year well check he weighed in 24 pounds 10 ounces (12%) and was 33 inches tall (16%), it may not seem like much but 5 of those pounds and 3 of those inches have come in just the last 2 months or so (and we have finally made it into 2t clothes!) Don't worry our boy must be pretty smart because his head is 20 inches around...in the 93%. He is doing much better with eating now and will try a lot of things that he wouldn't eat before. He still has his days where he refuses to eat but most days we can get him to finish his plate and once and a while he will go for seconds!! Some of his favorite foods include: french toast, pancakes, waffles, apples, bananas, bread, cheese, yogurt, cereal, noodles, chicken nuggets, hamburgers, french fries, ice cream, milk, and juice!

We just love this boy and are so excited about all of the new things he is doing and all that he is learning!! He is such a great son and a good big brother!

WE LOVE YOU PAXTON!!

Summer Fun

For the past few weeks we have been meeting once a week with a few teachers from my school at the splash pad at the North Park in Spanish Fork. At first Paxton wasn't so sure about it but now it is his new favorite place to go...he asks for "water" at least once a day! He loves to catch the water in his hat or play in it with a ball!
He also loves to play with his friends and splash them with water!

Paxton's Birthday in Richfield

While we were in Richfield last weekend we decided to have a little birthday party for Paxton with my family! At first he wasn't sure what was going on and didn't want anything to do with his presents so Andy got to open the first two...
Finally, by the third one, he decided he wanted to open his own presents!

He got a table and chair set from Grandma and Grandpa, and markers, watercolors, and a fishing game from Mom and Dad!

After presents we had sang Happy Birthday (one of Paxton's current favorite songs) and let him blow out his candles...which he got out on the 4th try!

Happy early birthday buddy...can't wait to celebrate again this weekend!!

Buzzed

After months of begging, I finally gave in and let Andy give Paxton a "summer haircut." Paxton is a sweaty little boy and having longer hair certainly didn't help the situation any! As soon as Paxton saw the clippers come out he was not very happy!

In fact he screamed for the entire haircut...even a sucker couldn't console him.

Poor Boy!!
After many tears and alot of buzzing...the job was done...my baby turned into a big boy!!
He wasn't into the idea of taking an after shot but you get the idea from this picture...it is pretty short but oh so cool!!

July 4th 2011

One of my favorite holiday's in the 4th of July and nobody does the 4th like Richfield!! It is tradition for our family to watch the parade sitting in the same spot every year, see old friends at the park while eating burgers, cotton candy, and snow cones, and to end the day sitting on my parent's front porch watching fireworks and eating homemade ice cream! I LOVE Richfield 4th of July! Here is a little recap of this year:

Here is part of the family sitting at "our spot" waiting for the parade to start! The parade was perfect this year...the weather was great, the parade was not too long, and there was plenty of candy! Paxton was just excited to get to sit in a big chair!
Andy was pretty excited about the candy!! I told him he couldn't be the crazy dad out there running around getting more candy than the kids!!

A few minutes into the parade Paxton decided he was bored of it and fell asleep...

So did Tegan!!

Then we made our way over to the park for lunch and Paxton continued to get a good nap...

And so did Tegan!!

Luckily Paxton woke up in time to get his snow cone!!

We had a great 4th of July and are counting down the days until next year!!

Meyer Family Reunion

We spent last weekend down in Blanding for the annual Meyer Family Reunion!! I have not been able to make it to the reunion for several years and Andy and the boys have never been to Blanding so we were excited to go!

We decided to drive to Richfield first and then make the 4 hour drive down with my parents because we didn't know how the boys would do stuck in the car for that long. Well Tegan slept the whole 4 hours and Paxton did great as long as we kept him well fed!! We had a great time at the reunion...the first night we got together with my Mom's side of the family for dinner, games, and chatting. The next day we attended a reunion of my Great Great Grandpa's family. We ate lots of good food and listened to a program about their lives. It was fun to learn about my Great Great Grandparents...I was especially amazed to learn that their posterity is now around 1,600 people!

We were able to stay at my Grandma's family's hotel...Paxton was excited to be staying in a hotel again and we were extra greatful for the air conditioning (it was in the 90's all weekend.) The first night we were laying down to go to bed and Andy got in bed with Paxton to help him go to sleep. Paxton took one look at Andy in his bed and said OUT and push him out of the bed...I think he was excited to have the big bed all to himself!!
During the middle of the family dinner Tegan decided to have the blow out of all blow outs...I'm talking from ankles to neck. Needless to say we had to leave the dinner early to get him in the tub and get some clean clothes on!

We had a great time at the reunion and are already looking forward to next year!!
