Paxton at the Dentist

Paxton also had his first real dentist appointment..after his disastrous eye appointment I was expecting the worst (my teeth) and hoping for the best (Andy's teeth!)
Pax was so good at the appointment...did his X-rays, got his teeth cleaned, and watched a cool movie!

Much to my relief it looks like Paxton was blessed with his Dad's awesome teeth because he had NO cavities!!  He was pretty pleased with his treat bag and even got to ride the mechanical horse outside of the dentist's office!

Paxton Gets Glasses!!

I decided that since Paxton was turning 4 it was time to get him in to the eye doctor for a check-up.  He has passed his previous vision screenings through the school so I was totally planning on going in there and having no problems!
Well I was wrong...I shouldn't be surprised since both Andy and I have vision problems!  Paxton was doing really good until the doctor covered his left eye and asked him to read the letters with his right eye...he couldn't read any of them.  Turns out Paxton has amblyopia in his right eye meaning he has a lazy right eye.  I was shocked but when I look at this picture and other pictures of him (especially when he is outside) he is always squinting that right eye!

First step to correction...glasses!!  Right now his prescription is Left Eye +1.75, Right Eye +4.00 so we are going to try the glasses for awhile to see how much correction they can make in the next 3 months before we think about doing any type of patching.  We also got to buy some pretty fancy prescription sunglasses that he gets to wear whenever he is outside!
He is doing a great job wearing his glasses...I think it shows how much it really helps him because for the most part he always wants to wear them!  This was right after he got his glasses...he looks so dang cute with them on!
After he got his glasses we went in for some more testing to determine how fast his eyes send messages from his eye to his brain and back.  He came back very delayed in both eyes so that is something that we will be working on improving as well!

May Instagram

Here is a little update of our lives during the month of May thanks to our friend Instagram!
We enjoyed a fun hike at the Red Ledges in Spanish Fork Canyon...the boys were fascinated with all of the red dirt and hills to climb.  Unfortunately it started to rain and rain and red dirt are not a great combination!
Andy won the monthly incentive prize at Nature's Sunshine for the 3rd month in a row...this month's prize a Kindle Fire!
Love these two stinkers...they will only go to bed if they are together (in mom and dad's bed!)
A little treat from my Dad for Mother's Day!
Enjoying the Utah Blaze game with the boys!
Apparently anything tastes better with a little bit of Nutella on it...even chicken nuggets!
Sometimes we just have random parties at our house (at Paxton's request.)  Today's big occasion...Happy Sunday!
Obsessed with the swing set at Grandma's house!  They could be on that thing for hours!

Utah Blaze Game

We renewed our Passes of All Passes this year and were so excited to try some of the things that we missed last year!  First on our agenda...Utah Blaze!  The Utah Blaze is an indoor arena football team that plays at the Energy Solutions Arena.  We had a great time watching football up close (even though it was not my favorite because there were so many penalty's!)
Tegan didn't really get too into the game but he really got into the food!  We managed to scarf down 3 hotdogs, 2 drinks, a bag of chips, and a huge soft pretzel...if we had more food I think he could have finished that off too!
 Paxton at the game!
Finally after his belly was full Tegan was able to concentrate and watch the game!

Paxton's Preschool Graduation

Paxton made it through his 1st year of preschool at East Meadows Elementary!  As is tradition with all of the older grades we try to have a little preschool program and graduation to let the kids show some of the things they have learned throughout the year!
Paxton was pretty excited to have both his mom and dad at school for his special day!
First each student did an "animal good-bye."  Paxton was supposed to get up there and say "Till Then Penguin" but instead he got up there and said...nothing.  Didn't do a thing.
Next they sang a few songs that they had learned in preschool...again Paxton said nothing...sang nothing.  He just hung out and smiled, faced the wall, looked at his friends, anything but singing his songs!  Little Stinker!!

Then they did a slide show of all of the fun activities and pictures they had taken throughout the year!  He loved that part!
Each student got a workbook and an award.  Paxton's award said "Paxton is our best story teller.  He will tell us anything we want to know!"  Somehow I don't doubt that!

Paxton and his best friend Teague...just ask them they will tell you they are "double trouble, 2 peas in a pod!"

Paxton with his teachers Miss Nicole, Miss Dana, and Miss Jean
We are already excited for preschool to start again next year!

Mother's Day Weekend

What a CRAZY weekend we have just had! We have driven all over the state to be there for weddings of 2 of my cousins!
First stop...Manti where my cousin Erin married JR! I was so glad that Andy was able to get some time off to go down with me!
Our family can not make a trip to Manti without a stop at one of our favorite places...Fred's.  Fred's is owned by some of Jamie and Pila' best friends Fred and Angie.
This trip I got a grilled cheese sandwich, sweet potato fries (which they serve with ice cream) a fresh lime, and a chocolate carmel shake...so so good!
Saturday morning some of my sisters, my mom, and I treated ourselves (or I should say my Dad treated us) to pedicures to celebrate Mother's Day.  I LOVE having my toes done!!
After that it was right back in the car for a trip to Layton to celebrate my cousin Nick's wedding.
Someone was not too pleased about the drive and he let us know about it most of the way there!
After the wedding we slowly made our way home stopping at a few of my favorite places...the outlets and Target!  One last pit stop at Fuji House for some Japanese food (my first time and no I couldn't bring myself to eat the sushi) and we were finally home!
And then finally it was Sunday...Mother's Day...a highly anticipated day in our house!  Paxton had been telling me for a few weeks that he and Andy had gotten me a surprise and that it was hiding.  Then he brought home the present he made in preschool and amazingly we made all the way to Sunday without opening the presents or spilling the beans about the hiding spot!

I told Andy that all I wanted for Mother's Day was to sleep in and have some alone time to read a book...I was given that and so much more!
Andy's surprise was 2 pictures of the boys that he had had printed on wood blocks at Walmart!
Paxton's present was a handprint alphabet book that they had been working on all year in preschool as well as a card that said "Mom I love you because...with mom I love to sing a song, brush teeth, and go to bed!"
I LOVE being a MOM!!
