Paxton's Funnies

I can't believe that this little man will be 2 in a month and a half...it has been so fun for me to be able to be home with him for the past 6 weeks. Everyday he learns something new, throws a 2 year old temper tantrum over something, and finds some new way to crack me up! Here are some of the funny things that Paxton is doing lately! He has learned how to dress and undress himself...he loves to wear other people clothes whether it is Tegan's pants, Mom's shoes or in this case Dad's shirt. He put this on and then walked around the house saying "Ghost, Ghost, I a Ghost." I had no idea he even knew what a ghost was...
He is obsessed with Andy. He is going through a phase right now where he calls me Mom and Andy "Mommy." The minute Andy walks in the door it's Mommy this and Mommy that. Andy said to him the other day, "Call me dad, fat man, daddy, papa...anything but mommy." Paxton looked at him and said "Fat?" Luckily that one didn't stick!

Paxton got this hand me down bathrobe from his cousins and insists on wearing it after he takes his bath and while he gets ready for bed...it is pretty dang cute!

He is obsessed with hats! He found this hat at Walmart while we were in Richfield the other weekend and had to have it. He is also obsessed with beanies and usually has at least one if not two on at all times. I finally have him convinced that he can not sleep with a beanie on or I am sure he would!

If we accidentally leave the pantry door open...even a crack...he can sense it! I loves to sit on the bottom shelf of the pantry and pull out all the boxes of cereal and have a little sample of each one.

He also loves "num nums" which is what he calls treats. One day I was giving him some marshmallows but I could not find a bowl so I put them in a measuring cup. Now he is insistant that he has a treat everyday after he gets up from a nap and it has to be served in a measuring cup!

Paxton is obsessed with taking this one specific couch cushion off the couch. He says "push, push" and gets it off. Usually he likes to sit in the empty space on the couch but I guess on this particular day he wanted to sit on the cushion. Then last week he discovered making forts with his cushion so now that is our new daily event.

For a little while Paxton was afraid of taking a bath...we could not figure out why he didn't like it so one day Andy just let the water run and run until it was like a swimming pool. Since that day Paxton loves baths but thinks bath time is swimming time...he loves a lot of water, loves splashing and loves dunking his head under the faucet.

Other funny things Paxton is doing:

  • He has a little speech problem so he calls Tegan Te-a and our dog Homer Homo. He runs around the house all day telling Homer to shush.

  • He is always the first one to remind us if we forgot to say the prayer on the food by folding his arms and asking "amen."

  • He loved his brother...almost a little too much. He loves to kiss him and grab his hand and dance with him.

  • Some of his favorite words this days are Charlie (for his favorite show Gook Luck Charlie), Mot for remote, cellpone or cheese for the cell phone and oh sorry. Lately when he know he is going to do something naughty he likes to apologize in advance so he will say oh sorry and then go over and dump out his blocks or turn off the TV.

Oh I could go on all day about all the entertaining things Paxton does...we love him so much and are grateful he is a part of our little family.

Tegan's Newborn Pictures

My sister Jerika and I attempted to take some cute newborn pictures of Tegan...here are a few of my favorites

1 Month Old

Tegan turned one month old on Friday May 13th!! I can't believe how fast the past month has flown by! Tegan is such a great baby...he eats like a champ and sleeps soundly no matter what is going on around him!Currently Tegan eats every 2 hours during the day and every 4 at night. He weighs 9 pounds 1 ounce (31%) and is 23 inches long (84%.)

We went to my mom's house this weekend and forgot to take the pack & play...so we found the next best thing!
Tegan is a super cuddly baby and loves to be held...I swear I could just spend all day holding him while he sleeps.

He is growing so fast and has grown out of most of his tiny newborn clothes and is now in 0-3 months and wearing size one diapers!

He loves his binky, cuddling, and his brother! Paxton loves Tegan...alot. The first thing he says in the morning is "Hi Te-a" (that's what he calls him) and he loves to kiss him and grab his hand and dance with him.

We love this little man and feel so lucky to have him as a part of our family!

Paxton's "Big Boy" Room

One of the things I insisted get done before we had Tegan was to get the junk/craft room cleaned out so that we could move Paxton into his new big boy room. I am not usually big on rooms with themes but we found a whole bunch of wooden animals for like $1.00 each at a craft sale in Richfield and decided we would do a jungle animal theme room. As you can see Paxton LOVES his new room! My mom and sister found this toddler bed at the DI for $40 and I made a new blanket to put on it.
These are some of the animals that we bought and I made the alphabet and numbers pictures on the Cricut.

A cute shelf with more animals and some of Paxton's stuff!

More of the animals and some cute pictures of Paxton when he was younger.

Decorating Paxton's room was so fun! He loves to play in there, read his books, take his clothes out of the dresser and hide in the closet. One thing he doesn't love to do in there...SLEEP...nope he still sleeps in the crib in Tegan's room. He won't fall asleep in his bed and when he does sleep in there he wakes up in the middle of the night and wanders around the house. We had to babygate the stairs because we were afraid we wouldn't hear him and he would be walking around in the dark and fall down the stairs.

Oh well...someday right?

Tegan's First Real Bath

Tegan's umbilical cord finally fell off so we were able to give him his first real bath last night! He looks calm in this picture but really he was not very happy about the whole thing... He finally calmed down and decided that the bath was not so bad...
Until it was time to get out! No this is not a smile, it is the beginning of this very little boy's very big...

SCREAM!!

Finally he got dried off, lotioned up, and dressed for bed and was our happy little Tegan again!!

Paxton's New Tricks

Paxton has gotten a little bit naughty since Tegan was born. He has discoved new ways to get attention from his parents when he is feeling left out. His favorite attention getting methods include turning on and off the TV, throwing his food on the floor, kissing and dancing (holding Tegan's hand and dancing) with the baby and now this...

Doesn't look one bit sorry does he...

Good thing there were no surprises for me in that diaper!
