Spring!!

I swear this winter has been the coldest, snowiest, and longest winter of my entire life.  I also know that I will probably say that next winter and every winter after that!  Finally the snow is melting and the sun is coming out and we can start doing all of the outside things that we love to do!

First Stop-The Park

Unfortunately the ducks at Salem Pond weren't hungry but we were pretty excited to see that they got some new playground equipment over the winter!

Happy Birthday Andy!!

This year we decided to go to Richfield the weekend of Andy's birthday!  We drove down in a massive blizzard, finally made it to Richfield, and woke up to about a foot of snow!  It was so crazy!  Saturday night all the men in the family went to the Elk Banquet and the girls went to dinner! 

On Sunday we had a quick celebration with cake and ice cream before we had to head home...

 

 Everyone sure enjoyed that "birthday party cake" and ice cream!

When Mom is Away...

March has been a super busy month for me and Andy has had to pick the boys up after school quite a few times...somehow every time he does they magically end up at McDonalds for their treat of choice...the Shamrock Shake!

Dads and Donuts

At our school we have a special dad's night called Dads and Donuts.  The students and their dads get to go to school, get a new book, read it with their Dad, and then get a donut!  We had been telling Paxton about Dads and Donuts for weeks...he was super excited for Dad to come to school and ecstatic about the donut part but apparently we didn't emphasize the whole read a book part because he was not at all interested in that.  He spent most of the reading time trying to figure out why all of his friends were there with their dads!

 Tegan managed to dump out most of the toys in preschool in a matter of 2 minutes!

 Once he got his donut he was one happy camper!!

Mustaches

Valentine's Day has sure changed a lot since I was a kid!  Gone are the days where you went to the store and bought a box of Valentines attached a small candy and called it good.  Thanks to Pinterest Valentines have gotten way more creative!  One of the little boys in Paxton's class handed out a photo Valentine of himself with a crazy mustache...included was a mustache for each of the kids.  It took Paxton a day to decide he was ready to try out his mustache.  Once he did it provided for hours of entertainment between him and Tegan (and Mom and Dad!)  Here they are in all their mustache glory!!

Paxton's Valentine's Party at School



We have been talking about Valentine's day for weeks around this house!  Paxton was so excited for the Valentine's party he would be having with his class because he knew treats were involved!

Here are some of the fun things that they did during small group time to get ready for their party!

At the first table they got to make a special bag to put all of their valentines in!

Here is the finished product...he was so proud of it!

At the 2nd table they wrote their names on hearts to make a heart hat to wear during their party!

We debated back and forth about what to hand out for Valentine's treats this year...I knew he was going to be getting a lot of candy so I wanted to do something different.  Thanks to pinterest we found some great ideas and finally settled on mini play-doh with the saying "Doh you want to be my Valentine?"

Paxton was so excited to hand them out to all of his friends...he was especially excited that there were plenty of extras to take home!

Valentines Day at Home

I expected that the boys would wake up bright and early on Valentine's morning so that we could give them their presents before I went to work...but of course they choose this morning of all mornings to sleep in and for Andy's sake we weren't going to wake them up!

Luckily Andy did a great job at documenting them opening their gifts!
