Ward Halloween Party

We always look forward to our ward Halloween party...maybe it is the chili cook off with 20ish pots of different kinds of chili or maybe it is the fun Halloween carnival that the young women and men put on for the kids.  

Whatever it is (for me its the chili!!) we love it and can't wait for it every year..see don't the boys look thrilled to be there!

The boys' costumes were super easy this year...I pretty much told them to go to the closet and pick something out.  This is pretty much everyday attire at our house!

The boys had a great time at the carnival!  There were about 8 different stations they could go to!  They loved all of the activities and more importantly loved all the attention and treats that came with each activity!

For the first time ever, Paxton agreed to get his face painted!!

Once we got home he decided he wanted to be a football player, monster, tiger for Halloween...unfortunately the face paint didn't last long before it started bugging him.

Carving Pumpkins

We finally got around to carving the pumpkins that we got at the Red Barn a few weeks ago.  

Side note before we get into this post...Paxton picked out the boys clothes after church, the Broncos and the Colts were playing that night and he was so excited!!  Apparently he decided he was cheering for the Colts and Tegan got to cheer for the Broncos!

Back to the pumpkins...we got some new carving tools and Paxton had to read the instructions to Andy to make sure that the pumpkins were carved correctly!

Tegan had to get a tool of his own... 

 Paxton took about two turns of pulling out the guts out of the pumpkin...

And Tegan got one handful out before it decided it was too gross!

Paxton's 1st Primary Program

Paxton finally had his first Primary Program!!  He was so excited to say his part in the program and had been practicing it for weeks!  His part was "Heavenly Father planned for me to come to a family!"  We practiced the songs and his part and he was so ready!

 The day of the program came and on the way to church he found a dime in the car and put it in his pocket.  Well about 10 minutes into the program he turned around (I was sitting behind him with my class) and started sobbing.  I hauled him out of there thinking he was having a nervous breakdown but about about 5 minutes of sobbing he was finally able to tell us that a little boy in his class took his dime...little stinker!  Well I promised to get his dime back and he immediately calmed down and was good to go!  Luckily we got back to our seats in time for him to give the part he had worked so hard to memorize!!  He did such a great job and looked so handsome!

Teddy Bear Clinic

The new baby is coming in just a few short months and Paxton is starting to get curious and ask lots of questions...the typical "How did the baby get in there?" or" How is he getting out?"  Also lots of questions about the hospital since we drive by it everyday on our way home.  We found out that the hospital was doing a Teddy Bear Clinic for kids to teach them about all the different area's of the hospital and I thought this would be a perfect opportunity to get the boys a little bit prepared for our newest little man to get here!

Paxton brought his monkey with him to take through the clinic!  The first stop was to Labor and Delivery where "George" was given and birth certificate, a baby T-shirt, and weighted and measured!  It was fun to be able to show the boys where mom would be staying when the baby came and the beds that the baby would be sleeping in and all of that fun stuff!

 We didn't bring an animal for Tegan (but we should have) so he was just along for the ride!

 Next we went to same day surgery where Paxton had to get George ready with his mask and hat!

 Paxton gave him shot and then casted the owie on George's tail!

 Next we were off to x-ray...we learned about a bear who swallowed a penny and why we shouldn't put things other than food in our mouth!  Then Paxton got to x-ray George to make sure he hadn't swallowed anything he wasn't supposed to!

 Unfortunately we had to end our tour at x-ray so that Paxton could get to his last soccer game...we missed about 3 stops including the ambulance and life flight but had a great time anyway!

 Paxton had a great time and is still talking about this fun experience!  

Hopefully when the baby comes they will be a little bit more prepared!

The Red Barn

It is time again for our annual family trip to the Red Barn in Santaquin.  Unfortunately this year our trip to the barn was tied to a bribe for Paxton.  Pax is going through this phase where he hates to wear his glasses, but he has an appointment with the eye doctor soon to check on the progress of his eyes, so we bribed him that if he wore them all day for 7 days straight we could go to the "pumpkin patch."  Luckily it worked and we got to go on our trip and he is wearing his glasses consistently again!

 Of course Tegan had to get one that was smaller than Paxton's.  They also picked out a really small pumpkin for the new baby!

 A trip to the Red Barn is not complete without apple cider donuts and caramel apples!!

"2 new additions to our fridge this week...a picture of Dumbo that Paxton colored for me in church because "that looks just like you mom" and Pax's chart to stop using "potty words" because if I have to hear the words pee, poo, and fart one more time I might go crazy!!"

Paxton-September in Preschool

Paxton is so glad to be back in preschool...and I am so glad to have him back there!  I feel like these preschool days are quickly dwindling and I want to soak it all in...but then I remind my self that I will have another preschooler next year and then another one 3 years after that so I guess my days in preschool are just starting!

 Paxton came home the first day with a Super Star Award for being the best at playing in the sand (probably because that was all he wanted to do all day) and being the best at writing his name!

Paxton brings home a packet of things to work on every week...this is by far one of my favorite homeworks he has done yet!  He did this all on his own...I especially love the "big sad eye" and the "angry teeth!"

They also learned about The Little Red Hen!

 They also got to practice making their own bread by mixing up flour in the sensory bin!  They must have loved it because the flour has been in their for a few weeks now!
