The Red Barn

We made our annual (2 times in a row makes it annual right!) trip to The Red Barn to collects some pumpkins for the boys to decorate!  It had been a long time since we had been to the barn so in addition to enjoying the fall festivities, we were really looking forward to some apple cider and donuts!
While waiting for the hayride we had to pose for the traditional picture on a bale of hay and spend some time climbing the fences and generally showing off for the other people that were there!

The boys enjoyed the hayride...especially when I let them be brave and hang over the side of the wagon so they could see the trees and animals in the fields.

The first attraction that we tried was the maze made out of apple crates.  It was perfect for these 2 boys, after all they had just spent 10 whole minutes sitting still on a hayride...what better way to get out the wiggles than to run free through a maze made of apple crates!

They added a new slide this year.  I was pleasantly surprised that as soon as we got out of the crate maze, Paxton ran straight for the slide.  Paxton is not my bravest child but he was super excited to try out the slide!

The first few times he went down with Andy or I and then before I knew it I looked up and there was Paxton flying down the tall slide by himself!!  That is a pretty big deal for this boy...especially considering how big the slide is!  Well he ended up LOVING it and went down by himself about 5 more times before we made him stop!
We made our way over to the pumpkin patch in search of the perfect pumpkins for the boys!!
It didn't take long for Paxton to settle on his idea of a perfect pumpkin...as for Tegan (who I was assigned to help) well we couldn't decide on anything! We ended up just going home with the perfect sized mini pumpkin that I am pretty sure did not grow in that pumpkin patch...oh well it was small and cute and just the right size for Tegan to hold!
Don't worry...this is not it!
