Lights at Temple Square

One of our favorite Christmas traditions is going up to Salt Lake to see the lights at Temple Square.  We we so busy during the month of December that we kept putting it off and then the weather was bad so we put it off again and finally we decided to go no matter what.  It turned out to be the best night we have ever had a Temple Square!!  The weather was great and there was no snow on the ground!
I had bundled up the boys with so much winter gear that we ended up taking off all the extras leaving them with only a coat, hat, and gloves!
Paxton loved naming all the colors of the different lights!
We went up to see the Christus statue...I was prepared for a disaster because last year Paxton cried because he was scared and Tegan was too small to notice what was going on.  Right when Paxton saw the statue he knew exactly who it was and wasn't scared at all.  Tegan was just excited to be out of the stroller and decided to let Andy chase him around the hall outside the room.

 By the reflecting pool...

The boys really wanted to play in the water and would have probably dove right in if we had let them!

Tegan was such a good sport but finally got sick of sitting in his stroller so we let him out and he ran around like a crazy man touching all the lights and chasing Andy around Temple Square!
After about an hour and a half of looking at lights (definitely a record for us) we went over to City Creek to wander through some shops and get some dinner!  The boys were so excited to get out of the stroller and eat and play for awhile!
We had such a great time at Temple Square and made it through without any major incidents unless you count loosing 1 glove and a hat but oh well...those are replaceable!
There is such a magical feeling and a strong spirit there at Christmas time and it is a great blessing for us to live so close that we can share this tradition with our boys and continue to make lots of family memories!
