Oh My Pregnant Brain!!

You know you are pregnant when you forget your own baby shower!! A few weeks ago one of the companies that I work for, Kids Who Count, planned a baby shower for me and the 3 other women that work for them who are pregnant or recently had babies. I thought about it, wrote it down twice, planned what to get the other ladies and then showed up to work today with NOTHING. I totally spaced that it was today, didn't shop, nothing...at least I showed up! I am usually not this spacy and it is making me crazy.
The shower was really nice and the ladies that I work with were so generous. Paxton got very spoiled! Andy thinks this kid has too many clothes and too many blankets but little does he know how much Paxton will go through in a day.

Although it is hard to see with all of the stuff piled on it, Andy gave me this great recliner for Mother's Day. I'm sure it will get alot of use in the future!!

32 Weeks!!

Well, we've made it to 32 weeks! It seems like time has just flown by...and I'm so dang glad! Pregnancy hasn't been my favorite thing and from what I have heard the worst is yet to come. What more can you ask for than a 25 pound weight gain, stretch marks, sleepless nights, and little feet kicking your ribs.
We are getting anxious for the next 8 (or hopefully less) weeks to fly by so we can meet our little guy...and get him out of me!!

Our New House

WARNING...lots of pictures ahead! It's taken a few weeks but we have finally got our house painted, cleaned, unpacked, and set up. My sister Jamie that lives in Texas has been bugging me about posting some pictures so she doesn't have to wait until the summer to see it. So here they are...

The Front of the House

Our Empty Living Room
(Someday there will be furniture in it)

The Kitchen

The Dining Room

Our Upstairs Family Room

The Master Bedroom
(It still needs some work...it's the next on my list)

One Side of Our Backyard

The Other Side of the Backyard with our Awesome Swingset!

Hope you enjoyed the tour. I didn't include any pictures of the basement because even though it is all finished we have nothing down there except for Andy's office. We love living in the house so far but it has definately kept us busy!! Andy has been working on the yard, fixing our sprinkler system and keeping our grass green. I have been busy inside trying to figure out where to put everything (as you probably notice I haven't hung anything on the walls because I just can't make up my mind!) Other than that we are excitedly waiting for the school year to get over so that Paxton can hurry up and get here!

Paxton's Room

I can see that this blog is quickly changing from Andy and Jalizabeth's blog to Paxton's blog...and he's not even close to being here yet!

We spent the weekend working on getting Paxton's room painted and ready for some furniture. When we moved in, this room was dark purple and light purple striped (of course with greenish tanish moldings and doors like the rest of the house.) Oh yeah and don't forget the ladybugs and dragonflies that were stamped in hot pink along the ceiling. I wish I had a before picture but I think it is on my mom's camera. Now after alot of aches and pains and a few tears...the room is the perfect shade of grey blue with a freshly painted ceiling and white moldings and doors. Yesterday I got what I had been waiting for since February...we finally got his crib and dresser put up in the room. It has been sitting in our dining room for months in a huge box and I just could not wait to get it set up! Here is a picture of the crib (there is also a matching dresser)...Now I can't wait to get the rest of the room decorated!

Update on Paxton

We had a doctor's appointment today to see how things are going with Paxton. Luckily we were able to do another ultrasound because he wasn't being too cooperative last time. Andy gave him a pep talk and told him to behave so that we could get a good shot of his face (that's what we couldn't see last time.) Well this time was not much different, Paxton had both of his feet and both of his hands covering his face almost the whole time. Finally after about 10 shakes of the belly he moved long enough for us to get a good look. We are just glad to know that everything is where it is supposed to be and working right!! The doctor said that he weighs about 2 1/3 pounds now and is growing great! Unfortunately we have always measured at least a week ahead at all of our other ultrasounds putting our expected due date at July 10th and our actual due date at July 17th but it looks like now he is measuring closer to the 15th not the 10th like I wanted. We are still hoping to deliver early in Richfield but as we have learned over the past few months, our son has a mind of his own and will come out when he is good and ready to come out!

The Joys of Homeownership

Well the excitement we had over our new house was quickly diminished when we went over to check out the house for the first time after it officially became ours. When we walked into the house all we could see was all of the work that we had ahead of us. The previous owners had not cleaned a thing...in 7 years but had managed to hang up about 120 pictures on the walls...all with anchor screws that had to be ripped out of the walls. They also did a very interesting reverse 2 tone self paint job with the most unappealing shade of tan that you can imagine. Did I mention the carpet...oh the carpet was bad. We were not super happy! Oh wait did I also forget to mention the 5 two inch holes that they drilled through one wall so that they could snake their flat screen tv wires through them to the plug. I still wonder what was uglier, the wires or the huge holes in the wall...

By the time that we got all of the holes filled and the walls washed it was obvious that the whole upstairs needed to be painted, doors, walls, baseboards, trim...everything. Luckily we have great families who have helped up a ton. Andy's family has spent a few nights this week up to the house helping us patch, sand, and texture holes, clean, and prime baseboards and trim. My mom, Jessica, and Jake came up for the weekend to help and managed to get the whole main part of the house painted in one day! Tomorrow we are hoping to get the bedrooms and hallway painted. Here are some before and after pictures of whats been going on at our house.
This is a before picture of the family room. Here is an up close picture of the beautiful reverse 2 tone paint job...throughout the entire house!

After a long day of hard work...It looks 700 times better than before We will continue to post pictures as we get more work done!! Thanks again everybody for your help...we don't know what we would have done without you!!
